My second Wilkos Stout kit.

Wilkos dark velvet stout
500g medium spraymalt
2 Vanilla pods

Brewed to 21l.

Overall I'm pretty excited about this, I think it should be a nice stout to drink, although probably wont bee the most powerful I have had.

How are you doing the vanilla? I recently did a coopers stout and added 2 vanilla pods slit lengthways into some vodka for a few days, then chucked the lot into the fv after initial fermentation had finished. I originally intended them to be in there for a week but after tasting I decided they needed another week.

Hope it goes well.

The same, slit down the side, rinsed in some rum, and chucked into the FV, although I did it on the first day (today) I'm wondering if I should have just finely chopped it and chucked it in, to give more of a surface area for the flavor to diffuse..

Quick update,

I decided to put a little coco powder into it, Hello chocolate vanilla stout :D However that being said, its smelling a little vinegary, so I am a little nervous. Hopefully its just mid fermentation smells going on :/

EDIT: However upon taking a sample, it smells nice and chocolatey, and the Gravity is coming along nicely :D
