you lot still talking about bread makers?? question is....

can they get a rolling boil?

No, but with fried flesh of pig and funghi it makes the perfect start to a brew day :thumb:

Just to let you know the bread mixes from Waitrose are currently on offer at 3 for £4. This works out at a pretty good deal.

Asda STRONG bread flour is only 60p for a BIG bag - THAT'S a good deal!

I'd stay away from the pre-mixed bread flour packs - over priced and and remove your control over the flour quality :nono:

That is a good price BY. I only looked at the Waitrose mixes because Puravida had recommended them in this thread. Tried the seeded wholemeal anyway. I'll let you know how it goes.

Loaf number 5 was much better today. Knocked the dough back then let it rise again in the tin. The yeast I've used says you don't need to do this but it came out much fluffier.

OK SO bread making is cheap. didnt think it would be.... does it make chocolate fudge cake? my oven does and it makes a mean stake and ale pie!

I don't use a bread maker, just a food mixer with a dough hook. And an oven obviously.

I'm quite a bread snob and generally agree with that. The three Waitrose flour mixes really are very good though.
I too just now use a dough hook and oven too. Started off with a bread machine and that's what got me into it really.

Doubt that do that Stone cold because they are called bread makers for a reason.

So does your oven do a full load of washing in 50 minutes. My washing machine does :D

As I said New Years Eve, us boys ..............and girls?, (been on a course at work ;) ) definitely need to get out more, ten days later we are still on about bread makers.
Good topic :D

It sort of sits nicely with brewing really innit  home brewed ale home made bread, can't really lose eh :thumb:

Done three loafs and it's left the paddle in two of them. It's no big deal really. It says to prize it out with a plastic implement so as not to scratch the paddle
