I have now collected about 30-40 empty wine bottles that I use plus loads of 500ml beer bottles for when I do my cider or beer.....
Now if I decide to have a drink of it I have 4-5 bottles of beer/cider...so looking at ways to cut down how many empty bottles I have and all the cleaning etc...
I have in the past put some into 2 litre PEP bottles...(coke lemonade etc)
but was wondering can you use a wine bottle and then cap the bottle with a metal top like you would a beer bottle or are the sizes different

Yes you can cap a wine bottle if you can find suitable bottles. Although nothing stopping you putting wine in ex beer or cider bottles and putting on a crown cap. I use screw cap wine bottles and reuse the screw cap a couple of times. Once you have enough bottles collect screw caps to replace the used ones after a couple of uses.
