Hi,
I have a Ritchies boiler I used to use - I think I bought it around 2002 (pic below). I stopped using it at some point in the past, I think due to issues and a general decline in brewing. I've just fired it up again and found that the heating element works fine but the thermostat seems to cut out when it gets to around 85oC. It has a dial from 1-10 and when set to 10 it seems to be stopping around 3-4 (turning the dial back results in a clicking sound around these numbers, suggesting that the cut-out takes over). It used to have a great rolling boil when working properly.
Does anyone think I can replace the thermostat on this? It has helped make to great extract brews in the past and I'm hoping to get it back into action for some simple AG recipes.
Thanks,
John
