The idea is to pitch the blueberries from this blueberry vodka into the beer once it's fermenting well (No activity yet 23 hours after pitching :( )

As it goes into secondary I will add a further kilo of defrosted frozen blueberries :thumb:

The yeast is finally fermenting the beer so it's time for some blueberries

sounds amazing TS  how is the vodka ?
It's very blueberryeyey
But a little sweet for my tastes. I'll leave it for the ladies that made it

After worrying about a slow start from the WLP300, I came home to this today

and there's about 20l of head space in that FV
I guess it had a party with the vodka

Looking good Mr shaw, and you have given me a very good idea whith what I might just do with a quantity of sloes I currently have steeping in some gin.

Sloe Porter maybee :wha:

Straying away from the post a bit, but Uncle, you might want to try this. Add any sloes or damsons that you have been using for gin/vodka and add then to a bottle of sherry, turn each day for a week, store for 3-6 weeks, 1 tablespoon of sugar at 2 weeks optional, strain out the fruit, and there you have it; sherry with a bit extra. However adding to beer is a bit more interesting

Watching with interest TS; great stuff

Might be worth adding to the sherry and then onto a beer or maybe not :? :wha:

The sg of this is down to 1.010 now so it has been transferred to secondary and a further 400g of mashed up blueberries added :D
Here's what was left behind in the primary fv

I did indeed taste it :thumb:
Unfortunately it was at 4°C so it didn't taste of much :(

THIS is exactly what I had in mind when I started brewing. It's also why I can't WAIT to make the jump to the dark side

Looking forward to hearing how it came out!
