Saw the 380 picture earlier on FB, I had a 250 when you were allowed to learn on a 250cc bike owning a 500 was a dream (i never did) i dont remember anyone owning a 380 i wonder how rare they are.

One of the best bikes ever still being made in Australia.

There is another iconic British bike that is being built in New Zealand and winning races I read about them not long ago could have been Velocette Viper or Venom but not sure.
I'm afraid my balls never grew big enough to reach some of the speeds John McGuinness reaches.

Bit older than my first bike i was the heady age of 14 when i took ownership of a beat Suzuki GP100 that served a field bike! great to learn sliding about on old hard road tyres on wet fields and mud!
Still the best fun bike i ever had!

Had a few bikes over the years
Suzuki RF600 - Heavy but comfy and described as the slowest 600 ever made haha
Suzuki SV650s - Early carb bike great fun gen of a motor and a frame that was scary at times.
Honda CBR600F4i - Marvel of engineering, could never do it justice, had way more speed and cornering ability than I ever will.
Suzuki SV1000 - Only lasted a few months scared me off bikes for years!

15 year break son wanted a bike and foolishly took on a 'project' Yamaha Fazer 600 when I was teaching him, has never been out the garage since first rides as exhaust studs sheared off and carbs need cleaned etc etc

I had a GT550 which was an awful thing. It did about 30mpg and handled dreadfully, certainly no faster than a 250. My mate still has GT750 kettle and a Kawa KH500 widow maker.
I don't miss the 2 strokes.

I had too many bikes to list but living where i do with all the green lanes i always favoured big trail bikes over road bikes this was my favourite Honda XL 500R

I borrowed my Dad's XL250R when I was an apprentice, it was immaculate like the one in your picture, until a car did a U turn without indicating, then it became a foot shorter, didn't do me much good either! 🤣🤣🤣

Love big trailers, one of the best all rounders I had was an XR600, did everything on it, thrashed to death and never missed a beat.

I was training for the 6 days when I had it and rode it to work every day and in the woods every afternoon on the way home, before going to the gym every day, battered it and apart from punctures never a problem.

When I got to the ISDE riding a 250 Husky was like cheating after the XR 🤣
