WTF sorry just watched the vid, how she didnt see you I will never know :(
It doesn't matter howmuch Hi Vis you wear, How Many lights you have on

if they don't look, the will never see you!!!

I've been lucky, all my accidents were down to me not reading the road conditions properly and never involved another road user.

My Brother had his leg smashed up and they rebuilt his knee using teflon and neoprene due to him overtaking a bus on a bend (plenty of space) when a volvo reversed out of his drive on the right!

My FIL ended up with broken ribs, fractured ankles and wrist, when a woman came out of a fish and chip shop jumped in her car, and did a U turn right in front of him.

Glad you are OK

Oh, there's a surprise, she's driving a BMW!
I used to have a CBR600 and I swear that you could wear a lighthouse on your helmet and some people still wouldn't see you!

I'm glad you're OK and I hope you get a good settlement for this. It's a shame the bike is in a bad state though as Gixers are lovely little machines.

Had a similar thing happen to me 9 years ago. Heading to work on a Sat morning, in a 40 zone. Guy pulls out infront of me doing a u turn. I sounded my horn but he kept coming. Don't remember the crash, next thing I remeber is rolling down the road after the bike thinking SH*T BAH*Y*(Y(*.
Bike went in for repair, took me 10 WEEKS to get it back. His truck was scratched a bit.
What I think happened was my foot rest caught his bumper, causing the bike to flip and sailing me down the road. I think this because I had a missing LH foot rest, paint from his truck on REAR of my bike.

Police called but I was in so much pain, I had a fully armored jacket on and trousers with knee protection, but still got cracked ribs and a lovley bruise on my somach, covering most of the RHS. Most pain came from my knees though even though they weren't damaged.

My insurance company was "disenterested" they droped my NCB etc, they covered the bike repair, but I was out for about £500 in kit. I ended up taking up one of the no win no fee lawyers and suing his insurance company. TWO years later I finially got my NCB back and some cash.

Glad you are not hurt mate.

She did get out to see if I was OK. She was very worried and even called me yesterday to see how I was doing.

She admitted full liability to the plod and its all on video.
I like to think im a sensible rider especially within towns, this just couldn't be helped.
New motorcycles have to have their lights on permanently by law these days so I couldn't turn them off if I wanted to. So she didn't even see my headlight!!!

im glad She admitted full liability to the plod .

as my mate was convinced she would do the right thing ...
like your woman she called him to see how he was doing ...

but as soon as the insurance company got involved ...

the calls stopped and she put the blame on him saying ...

when she started her turn there was no one in sight ...

then suddenly here he was ....

he must have been speeding ..

at the time he had people say they would come to court on his side...
as they seen every thing...

but becuse she was a nurse /and said sorry/ and admitted it was all her falt ...
he didnt get the names...

bad bad move...

and after it went to court ...it came in at knock for knock...

all im trying to say is dont loose your confession on your pod...

you never no with insurance companys...

sad thing is, in winter daytime, running lights are a sodding risk, as they can make you seem invisible against the low sun, and no amount of benny braces or hi vis bollix is going to make an ounce of difference

put in that proportionally more care drivers are unaware of theyre surroundings, and you have a recipe for pain and anguish

(admittedly the car drivers once any self respecting biker lamps him one  )

Hope you're OK, scary biscuits that, you had absolutely no time to react at all
