Bere Malt

Hello everyone,
I’ve read somewhere today about “bere malt”. Apparently it is made from a very old variety, six-row barley, grown on a small scale on a number of Scottish islands. I’ve tried to find some for sale but couldn’t. Has anyone tried this malt, or anyone seen it for sale anywhere?

Never heard of this malt before, so I flexed my google-fu and came up with this quite informative page

I cant imagine you could just buy some from a online HB store so imagine you might have to contact the Agronomy institute in Orkney https://www.uhi.ac.uk/en/research-enterprise/centres/agronomy/

Bruichladdich do a single malt whisky from bere barley. If I remember correctly, it's one of the earliest barleys in the British isles, imported by Vikings.
