So being an impatient sod and having a particular dislike for bottling days I decided to build a 3 way bottler, I got the idea from an article on BYO.

Before anyone rushes to knock up their own a word of caution, it is far from perfect and its a bit tricky to use mainly as the valves on the bottling sticks are a bit temperamental so its hard to get the 3 bottles filled evenly. However it definitely means I can fill bottles quicker and I think with a bit more practice I should end up with less overflowing bottles! I have only tested with water but with the bucket up high there is sufficient pressure all the way down to the tap level to keep the liquid flowing.

If you do fancy making one this is what I used.

3 bottling wands
2 and a bit meters of 9mm ID PVC pipe
10mm Cross Connector
2* 10mm Elbow Connectors
Short piece of 1inch sq wood
3 * M4 Threaded Bushings (Optional)
3 * M4 Hex Key Grub Screw (Optional)

Line up 3 of the widest bottle types you use and mark the centres on your piece of wood.

Drill through wood with 10mm bit

Mark centres on side of wood and drill through to centre holes with 6mm bit

Fit bushings and grubs into 6mm holes

(Grub Screws arent essential but will make sure the wands dont slip)

Fit bottle wands and make sure valve tips are level, very gently tighten the grub screws if using

Link the connectors with short pieces of PVC pipe (I used 9mm pipe to give an extra snug fit on all the connections)

*Its easier to fit the pipes if you soften it in the steam from a kettle first

Fit the piping connectors to the wands

Get your bottling bucket up nice and high (this is probably slight overkill in the picture!)

Connect length of pipe for the bottler and off you go......

Looks great. Could you have another piece of timber with cutouts for the bottom of the bottles? Just drop the next three bottles in then and it's all aligned.

Yes was going to do something like that maybe a grid of 9 to make it extra quick

I like your bottle filler. It looks like something I would come up with. I just wish I had a bigger boil kettle and fermenting bucket to use a triple bottle filler like that.
