Beerworks Redneck Double IPA is on

This brew caught my eye when the competition started on the forum to win a kit. Myself and a mate have bought one each and started it yesterday, I attach pictures of the contents.

The instructions say to add the hop packet on day 5 after making a tea with 500mls of boiling water, then bottle on day 10. This seems a bit short for a kit that should finish around 7% so intending to put in the hops around day 9 and leave for another 5 days.

I made it up to 24ltrs, not 23 and pitched the (huge sachet of) yeast around 23 degrees. When I woke up this morning it had gone nuts so I attached a blow off tube, I took a picture of the volcano as I did it . I'll keep you posted with the results.

I have one of these kits waiting, (plus one of their Nirvana) so I will be following your experiences closely.
I love their Presidents Sierra and Golden Rocket, so I have high hopes.

These kits have a generous 20g of yeast, so they take-off very well. I have a 30 litre FV and I usually start my brews at 18 or 20 litres, this leaves enough headroom to accomodate over active yeast. I top-up the last few litres with hop tea made from the dry hops.

Based upon the ingredients and results obtained, I consider the love brewing kits to be the fairest priced of all the premium kits out there.

Just started mine, after seeing how active it is I think I'll switch from an airlock to a blow tube.
