Can someone tell me how to convert the LDK figure which comes with my grain, into the grain Yield Potential SG figure for the respective grain in BeerSmith please :hmm:

I'm determined to start using Beersmith more...only had it 3 years..ish and still doing stuff manually....

LDK / 3.785 (to convert to kilo per us gallons)

then / 2.2 (to convert to lbs)

Think that's right, haven't got access to my spreadsheet at the moment.

Jb, I have BS's units set to imperial.
I have a LDK figure of 295 and can't make it work for me.
I used to know how to do this, but I've brewed that infrequently over the last year, I've forgotten 'how to'

I'm not familiar with BS (and have installed it before so the trial won't work on here now), I just assumed that it wanted the PE in the form 1.036.

JBs explanation is correct and works. The reading in beersmith is ppg (points pounds per gallon) where gallon is US gallon rather than UK gallon.

A LDK of 295 is about 1.036 in Beersmith. It matters not what units you have Beersmith set to :thumb:
Let me know if you are confused and I can talk you through it.

So this is right,
295/3.785 = 77.94...77.94/2.2= 35.42.

I've recently re-installed BeerSmith. The old version had 2004 beer style guidlines ,even though it said there were no updates available. When I re-loaded the guidlines are 2008!

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated
