Apologies in advance for this noob question but does beer continue to improve whilst in the bottle.
swombo's cider seems to but my mostly bitter is never in the bottles long enough. I start drinking it asap. also does it get stronger the longer it's left.

When you prime the bottles the yeast will convert that sugar so it might go up a touch in abv but nothing you would notice but it will definitely get better with time try sticking 2 or 3 bottles in the cupboard for 3 or 4 weeks and you'll see the difference

I have done just that with my latest brew and going to forget about them. Don't get me wrong i don't finish a kit off in 2 or 4 weeks anyway usually about 8 weeks. One of my problems is head retention it seems to disperse quite quickly yet if you have a good pint of cask ale in the pub it keeps all the way down the glass with the rings around the glass where you have had mouth fulls. That's whats frustrating me.
Thanks for your input btw.

Sometimes if you stray from the recipe on you can you can lose head retention dme is a good replacement for sugar though and helps the head a bit

Also if you have any washing up liquid or dishwasher detergent at all left in the glass it will kill you head prety quickly :thumb:
