Hi

My AG beer is in fermenter, down from 1073 to 1022 at the moment. Its nearly done fermenting I think as the head is gone.

However, it tastes very sharp and leaves a long aftertaste.

Should I put this down to the fact that its a strong beer and that its not conditioned yet or do you think I could have a spoiled batch?

Cheers :hmm:

If you can drink it.. its prob no spoilt! But yes.. it will prob need more time to condition.. depends how long its been going.. what sort of beer it is.. and also how you made it!

Sarah hughes ruby mild, around 7.5%. Its finished fermenting at 1012. Tastes better tonight so will cask it.

1.073 down to 1.012, I make that 8.3% abv, which is pretty good going

By the “one week for every 10 points of OG” rule, your brew probably needs keeping for at least a couple of months for you to even start to appreciate it at its best, but that ought to be a cracker.

Yeah its a bit strong. I lots of Belgian bottles in the garage. Perfect for this killer ale.

mm its only going to fill just over half a barrell - lots of air. Its in for a week to condition pre bottling is that ok (the air?)

cheers
