Anyone getting one this year. I usually don't bother but my wife ordered me this from beerwulf. Ordered at 10am yesterday and arrived this morning and only £44.95 after the £5 newsletter discount.

Will post in this thread what beers I get

I ordered one from beerhawk after seeing an ad on facebook, came with a tasting kit. A bit pricey at £70, but it's Christmas and I haven't told SWMBO how much :laugh8:

I received the Beerhawk advent calendar last year from my wife and I was so impressed by it, I started saving up for this year's one right away. It was delivered to me a fortnight ago, but not wanting to get myself too interested in the contents, I've left it in the plain cardboard box that it was delivered in, mind you I did open it as I got the version with the glass, tasting notes booklet, £10 voucher and bottle opener.

So I took a look on Amazon and came across this ....

I know one shouldn't mock the afflicted but please check out the ONE Customer Review.

I really feel for the lad, but I defy you to not laugh!

I had a bit of a chuckle reading that. Made me think of an eBay sale many years when a box for an XBox sold for over £100, when he complained to eBay, they refused a refund as the seller had quite clearly stated in the listing it was for a box to contain an XBox but didn't include the XBox itself. Tickled my funny bone so it did.

I decided to put my own together this year giving me an excuse to splash out on some beers I wouldn't ordinarily pay top dollar for.

Having put them into a random name generator, today's beer was Mobberley Brewhouse's Roll With It. A NEIPA but with English hops it was really interesting. Huge emphasis on the floral & herbal aromas & flavours of the hops. Enjoyable but I wouldn't rush out for another!

California IPA for day 1 of the Beerhawk advent calendar and I've opened door 2 and it's a Westmalle Dubbel. acheers. Excellent start and if the rest of the calendar is of similar quality I'll be delighted

Anywhere selling discounted beer advent calendars since it’s now the 2nd?

I got a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup one this year.

I got the Mikkeller calendar this year as he does make amazing beers and I'm expecting a few special beers in it. The calendar itself is actually just a cover on the box, perfect for me as it means I can just put it in an Inkbird controlled beer fridge and access then easily but it does seem a bit cheap relative to the price of the calendar (there are 26 beers in it though).

Yesterday's beer was a "New England style pale ale", really more like a session AIPA and wasn't a bad start, even the wife liked it and she very rarely likes beer. They are releasing some crazy video to go with each as well, for me it's mostly useful in case someone moves the beers and mixes them up.

It will be interesting to see if I think it was good value at the end but I have seen others say it is one of if not the best beer calendar.

Day 1:

Had a couple of days off after a fairly hefty knock to the head at football on Sunday. It all works out though as I only have 19 beers in my homemade advent calendar.

Tonight is Mikkeller's SpontanDoubleRaspberry, a 7.7% fruit sour. Wowsers, this one is melted down raspberry Tangfastics! Fantastic aroma that gives no indication of the beast within! I think I might have found my sour limit for a beer!
