To be honest most the stuff i watch regularly is on the BBC and even if i wanted to kick it into touch our lass would pay as she likes the soaps and watches a fair bit of daytime TV as she works shifts, i know we all moan about it but its not bad value at £12:50 per month, Netflix is now £9 per month and no one seems to moan about the cost (BTW i have no interest in Netflix)

My issue with the BBC is neither the cost nor the content of what I actually watch. More the editorial slant. The dictatorial communism that all should fear, by outcomes, is promulgated as if it were a form of salvation.

Thought this thread was going to be about BBC hops :laugh8:
I see MM now has BBC Mosaic, but they're nearly as much as a month's Netflix subscription.
:cheers3:

Congrats on the best comment so far:hat:

They're obsessed with pushing climate change crapola... as much as I am in refuting such garbage. For instance, their low-down report on snow in Australia was littered with links to stories about record warmth, presumably to stop simpletons getting the 'wrong idea'. They can't help themselves but only succeed in making them look even more silly and desperate with such tactics. And it's about time Eastenders was pulled. Just catching a fleeting glimpse of that whilst flicking thru' channels sends me into a fit of depression.

You have to have a licence to watch BBC on the internet or do you mean illegally?

I hasten to point out that this was on The Victoria Derbyshire show. A mid-morning round up of stories etc.... it was NOT the 6 o clock news!
Also this woman's twitter feed is full of vile bigoted, ill informed crap.
However.... all that aside, yes had that actually been on the news and not a 10am daily roundup and discussion program I would probably agree that the BBC might have pushed it too far, but it didn't.
Protest is relevant and right, but we only really like to see that which we agree with. It's correct that museums and history documentors should record what occurs.

You have the internet so could watch it on that, also there is the radio.
Yes I have the internet and yes they do monitor who watches BBC online but as I don't use it it doesn't matter. You don't need any sort of licence to listen to radio - that was abolished with the introduction of transistor radios back in the 60s.

By the way, TV licensing are totally cool with my set-up and only bother us every 2 years to check if things haven't changed. In times past they used to be a pain in the arse of course.

Honestly don't care. As long as I get to watch Prof Brian Cox and David Attenborough, I'm not really fussed about what the BBC do or don't do.

EastEnders...warraloadacrap!
They all still talk with the really fake put on Tommy Steele Cockerney geezah accents for the rest of the country who watch it because no one in London does. But when you watch other programmes depicting London people, especially with teenagers they seem to speak with a sort of pigeon mix of stuff using the word "innit" a lot...or is it just me???

What annoys me is the double standards Trumps haters call him racist, sexist and several other things but its OK for them to show him as a fat orange blimp balloon wearing a nappy, i think people would take them a little more seriously if they dropped this now very old stunt.

I don't like the soaps and haven't watched one since Emerdale Farm became plain old Emerdale but they are popular and no one forces anyone to watch them, i remove myself from the room every time SWMBO turns one on, i love the peace and quiet in my kitchen.
