Hi everyone. I usually bottle but this time im going to barell ale. Is the priming sugar the ame amount as if you were bottling ? I normally use around 4 ounces for an ale if i was bottling. I was going to use 6 ounces for the 5 gallons in the barell. What is your advice folks ?. Also once in barrel do i inject co2, leave for 10mins, unscrew lid then inject more co2, tighten lid then leave to carbonate

Hi
I put about 80-100g in. My barrel has a gauge which does help, but there is a release valve if it gets too high. It shouldn’t matter too much. You use co2 anyway, and it is nice to keep the real ale live over the period naturally.
