I want to batch prime 8 litres of Lager I have brewed so I can then bottle it.
I have read the instructions on how but it doesn't seem to give ratios from 1 litre so I'm not 100% sure on how much sugar water I need to mix up for my batch.

Thanks in advance guys.

between 6 and 8 teaspoons of sugar in a similar amount of water, boiled and then rack the beer onto the solution . . . bottle

Iusually use 6g per litre of sugar for Ale. You may want a bit fizzier for lager perhaps 8g per litre.

So what you need to do is work out how much sugar you need

8g of sugar x 8 litres of larger = 64g of sugar.

Boil up some water and put that amount of sugar in a sterilized container and add a bit of boiling water, just enough to dissolve the sugar.

Now place this in a sterilized bucket which you will use to bottle from. Next stage is to syphon the beer into this making sure it doesn't splash around to much, preferable run it down the side of the bucket. Give it a quick stir with a sterilized spoon or paddle and now you can bottle up the lager.

Someone may come along with a more accurate priming rate than mine as I have never done lager before.

Hope this helps

You're spot on there mate :thumb: I used 7g/L for my last lager, turned out nice :D

KMC, once you have bottled, keep them in the warm for a week to let the sugar do it's work

That mate is a massive help! I'll give it a go using that measurement and see how it turns out.

I've put them in a nice warm cupboard. Hopefully will be ready to drink in no time at all!

Thanks for all the help guys! Cheers.
