Hello y'all, this seems like a good place to ask so : on 1st brew and got concerns over impending batch prime.

Festival Landlord fermented primary 18 days and racked into secondary FV.
- it had a little fizz to it during siphoning.

Been in 2FV for 5 days and looking to batch prime and bottle soon. Clearing, no froth, slightly bulging lid so still producing CO2.
Probably should have just left it in PFV , but didn't!
FG is stable at 1010

Would like to batch prime into and onto the brew in this 2FV as this has tap ready for little bottler setup - any thoughts regarding adding to full FV and mixing..?

I realise folk tend to rack onto priming sugar and then bottle.
Don't want to rack off 2Fv sediment into a third FV without tap, and therefore back into this one with the tap.. if you follow..

I'm at the hmmm..? stage cheers fer looking..

If you boil some water, add the sugar, making sure it keeps a good boil to sterilise it and cool it in a sterilised sealed container there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to add it to the FV and just give it a gentle stir with a sterilised spoon / paddle taking care not to add oxygen to the beer.

I've not had to do this myself but I have heard of other people doing it in situations like this. Racking it back and forth carries a similar risk so I say just try adding the priming solution and stirring gently.

I started my brew yesterday and checked on it before out of curiosity.(probably shouldn't of but I'm knew to homebrew and got excited). Looking at it I think it may be infected what do you think. It's a coopers lager, thanks.

That looks perfectly normal.
You don't need to have the FV completely sealed as the CO2 produced will need to escape. Either use an airlock or leave the lid loose.

Aw that's great then thanks A lot. Was panicking I was gonna lose it😄🍻

Hi Serum - cheers for your reply.
That was my plan, but then this morning I had a change of plan:

ended up racking 2FV to 3rd, mixing priming sugar into the 2FV and racking into that before bottling..
Bit risky with extra hygiene and oxygenation risk, but felt happier doing that.

However, as part of the reason was to not disturb the sediment/ clearing (in 2FV), it was pretty minimal and probably not worth the hassle and risk... still now I Know .

Took a sample glass of beer, slightly hazy and flat but with a surprisingly great taste.
All crated and snuggled down for the next bit of magic to weave it's way through the brew..

..cheers again and greetings from Yorkshire.

..update 03 Nov:

The brew was bottled glass/plastic - 70/30%

Results: after sampling over the last 4 weekends - what a great tasting beer.
I could really taste the improvement over the samples, and the glass bottles are definitely better carbonated with stronger, foamy head.

No probls re initial post over the batch prime worry.

And again, a successful delisicious drink.
On with Festival Pilgrims Hope..
