Hi Unc,
It's an 8 barrel plant, if I understood him correct will that be 2309 pints :hmm:
They don't bottle, but he's invited me to his pub in Sheffield (The Harlequin) for a sampler when it's ready. :thumb:

It was a busy day for BB yesterday, up at 6.00, off to Sheffield for 8.00 brewing until 2.30 then blasted up the motorway for a shift at work until 10.00 last night...... Was it worth it????
YES!!!

P.S
Wish that was my job every day

One thing I did notice, is they have the strainer on the outlet of the pump installed incorrectly it should have the liquid going in where they have it coming out.

Is that a strainer? We've got a Porter plant and we don't have that thing.

Did you pick up any brewing tips?
Is it you or the brewer in the pics? (suspect it must be you)
Your right Jim it's young Johnny (Barnsley Brewer) havin' a ball
Didn't learn owt new except how to make my my spinning sparger better with the hole position ;) If anything my set-up is more complex to run with the HERMS system than that breweries standard mash.

Yes just a strainer, to clean it they must have to take the whole thing off, if it was installed correctly they would only have to flick off the end pull the middle out quick flush then put it back, the way they have it installed, all the crap will fall back into the pump outlet when it stops.

Please enlighten BB :wha:
Hi Jim, :thumb:
I had all mine in a straight line slightly angled so it spun but it never rinsed the centre properly the holes in his sparger were pointing virtualy down except for the outer 4 that were angled more upwards to create the turning movement.
When I re-do mine I'll post a pic.

Thanks BB
The holes in mine start as vertical in the middle, then gradually rotate a 1/4 turn till they are horizontal at the ends.
EB's design!
Sounds like the brewery one Jim. :thumb:
I made all mine in a straight line, works O.K(ish), but not as good as one like yours......
I'll make a Mark.II while I'm off over Christmas. :D
