Enjoy the break anyway! How many batches can you get done in 10 days?

I'm planning on just the 2! Spent the last hour preparing equipment / weighing and mixing grains / descaling elements etc for Sunday's stint as it happens. But I've got absolutely craploads to bottle, and 6 gallons of blackberry wine from summer just gone to deal with. Honestly my work never ends. Holiday? Humph...

When will that blackberry wine be ready to drink?

It's very good right now! Been having a bottle on Sunday nights for the last two months. I've got a four-gallon carboy and two demijohns of it, which can all now be bottled as I've accumulated enough empties to deal with the lot in one go.

....Feeling desperately sorry for all you fellow forumites that have to work over Xmas/New Year.

But... I'm retired..!

Are well, $#! T happens, :lol::lol:

I'll drink your health as much as possible :drink::hat:

I need to get on this next summer. There's miles of forageable bushes round here. I made jam this year but for basically the same time and ingredients I could've made booze!

I made 5 litres in the summer - a very fine wine. Only had one bottle last week , and it was scrumptious. Wish I’d made more, but next summer comes soon [emoji3]

The weather forecast says a steady 10C for the next five days. That's ale serving temperature, which is helpful given the fridge will be full!

Hi!
I've got about 37 litres sitting in plastic water bottles. I really should transfer to glass demijohns to mature until spring.
As I have space for two FVs in my fermentation fridge, next year I'm splitting the brew into two 12 litre batches - this year it was pushing the capacity of a single FV.
I might also try crushing the blackberries and collecting the juice, rather than use the whole berry. However, this may prove to be too arduous a task.
I'm about ready to bottle the blackberry brandy that's been sitting in the back of my wardrobe since August - it's a really lush liqueur.

Blackberry brandy - now that sounds dandy.
I made some Blackberry Gin which is coming out this Xmas.
