Evening all,

First and foremost I am an avid beer drinker with an appreciation for quality. As a diagnosed Coeliac tired of the minority of beers available to me on the market, I am hoping to eventually develop the knowledge to produce myself a variety of enjoyable gluten free ales, lagers and ciders, and consequently have decided to try my hand at home brewing.

I am currently in the process of brewing two kits to get myself started. I kicked off last night with a Gone With The Wheat English Bitter and a Youngs APA (For a friend). I'm using two 25l fermentation buckets with airlocks at a room temp of between 18 and 20. No bubbles yet but there is some small bubbles/condensation inside the airlock.. Fingers crossed!

I'm excited to getting my teeth into home brewing and am sure I'll be heckling many of you with hordes of questions so apologies in advance :drunk:

Welcome!

My dad and brother are coeliac so I've tried the GWTW English Bitter and it went down a treat (with my dad at least.. my brother was diagnosed at 12yo so never got a taste for the magic nectar!)

There'll be plenty of people on here to help you as they did me & dont be afraid to ask questions - as silly as they may seem
ATB

Callum :)

Cheers guys! Glad to know the Gone With The Wheat kit went down well Callum, I was unsure of what to expect so that's reassuring news.

Brewberoza, it was that website that inspired me to have a go at brewing! I'm looking to get a few kits under my belt before trying a few of the extract recipes on there using sorghum, I'll keep you informed. It would be great to eventually malt my own grains and move onto all grain, but even reading about it is overwhelming at present so I think it'll be a while yet!

There was a slight fruit/apple-ish flavour developed but i'm 95% sure that was because of a leak in my keg. Just to let you know

Ah right, well I'll see how this batch goes and let you know how the final product turns out.
