Sorry I never replied earlier but have been away for a few days.

I rack mine after 20 days and then leave it for a week or two before bottling.
You won't get it crystal clear and it will probably end up a pale yellow colour.Racking does help to take away the cloudiness though.
1/2 tsp sugar per 500ml bottle.

hi, thanks for the replys, by the way, asda aren't getting any more lime in, it was only in for pancake day.. , none of the supermarkets round here stock it, so, would i be able to just double the lemon juice instead?, as the fresh limes and lemons won't last forever!!
Thanks matey!

O.K. Here's the plot.Simple one really.

Boil 2L water in a pot and dissolve sugar and sweetners.
Add a crushed cam. tablet and stir in juices.
Allow it to cool and then pour into clean D.J.
Cut (scrubbed) lemon and limes into 4 pieces and stuff into D.J.
Top up with cold water and add cider yeast.
After 15-20 mins give it a good shake.
Insert air lock and ferment at 20C.For at least 20 days.

After 2 days give it a good shake.
Day 20. rack to clean D.J.
1-2 more weeks(should be clear by then) bottle with 1/2tsp primer to each bottle.

Both my previous batches had an S.G. of 1.072 and F.G.of 1.002 making it 9.12%. :D

Any questions let me know.
when you say top up with water do you mean top up to 4 1/2 ltrs

just out of curiosity, where did you get this recipe from?

To be honest I think I put this together after a bit of research and experimenting.

Not totally original, but it seems to have worked for me. :D

Started this today with english ale yeast (possibly not a winner), concentrated grape juice instead of lime, and less sugar. Regular bubbles in the first hour - excellent! Not a recipe to try if you have hangnails :)

What's your hydro reading?
When I racked my latest after 20 days it read 1.026,when I bottled it 10 days later it was down to 1.002.
It's up to you,but I can't see any point in rushing it.
O.G. was 1.077 by the way. :thumb:

None of the 3 I've brewed has tasted sour.

Once bottled and conditioned they turn out sweet tasting.

Must admit I've never tasted them before I crack open a bottle.Maybe the yeast you used had something to do with it. :hmm:
