Just seen these Apollo hops on the home brew companys site. Their AA rating is 19.5%, and apparently they are really aromatic and flavourful, which leads me to believe that they'd be a fantastic choice for any heavily hopped beer, especially IPAs, etc.

Was just wondering if anybody had used this strain before and could recommend how they perform and what the flavour is like?

used them in my american IPA they were excellent, v nice orangy kinda citrus, defo recommend and work well with the c hops

I've used them and just bought some more. Big US citrus aroma and flavour. At 19.5%AA also a very economical hop for good clean bittering and also for hop bursting at the end of the boil. I even used some to try hop a brown ale in my KK that was tasting just a bit too English and middle brown nothingness but they definitely made it more interesting.

If you're into your big American hops try and get hold of some Columbus hops. They give that big american thing as well but its more the piney resiny end and they work well with Apollo too. I get all my hops from www.worcesterhopshop.co.uk if you're only needing to get hops the postage is reasonable and i've not found anywhere cheaper for the hops themselves.

I've got a mahoosive bag of Apollo and I haven't used a single one of them yet.

I'm planning a single hop APA stylee thingwy I think. MO, bit of crystal, big pile o' hops...

:thumb: for Apollo. Used in APA, ESB and IPA so far. Great for bittering and surprisingly aromatic so usually stick some in at flameout. Never tried to single hop yet

I just got a bag of Columbus. My local micro done a series of beers 55/45 (pale malt/wheat) and single hopped with a few different hops. The Columbus was outstanding
