Weve had this boiler for 6 years and on Sunday it sprung a leek, a very big leak, a very, very big leak. I phoned the engineer who fitted it and he came out today and said the Heat Exchanger had split, soaking all the internal electrics. He told me to phone Worcester Bosch, which I did and they said that the HE was guarenteed for 10 years. (they are sending out a engineer to look at it (for which I have got to pay).
Now because the HE has soaked all the internal electrics are they going to say that that is not covered just the HE.

Dunno....but if a guaranteed part has failed and caused the whole thing to be ruined surely they're liable for it...
I pay for the cover with British gas..electrics,plumbing and drains. I've had them out plenty of times...

Would argue that, if the HE is under guarantee, then that certainly should not cost you if that part has caused further damage. likewise the call out should be free as the part is faulty.

At work my departments fit loads of Bosch boilers every year, normally very good with customer service and tech help etc to the extent we actively push them as the choice for clients

We went on the engineers recommendation about which make to go for. As he said this morning "Ive never seen this before and Ive fitted 100s, its all I recommend" he also said "I have no idea where to start, as Ive never had to do this before" that is why he suggested I phone Worcester Bosch directl.

When our WB Greenstar boiler was fitted over seven years ago I was told that it was guaranteed for five years and that was that, which I accepted. If you have talked to WB and they have told you that the boiler also has a 10 year parts only guarantee then for me that would be a bonus. The man who fitted and services our boiler continues to fit WB boilers and said when he came at the last service that they are proving very reliable and now WB are offering a six year warranty.
I think you have just been very unlucky, but I hope you manage to sort things out without incurring too much cost and inconvenience.
