that may be the 'kit twang' - sometimes more obvious in some kits than others, or it may be a slight off flavour from the fairly high fermenting temperature. I try and brew my ales at around 20 - 22 c - remembering that it's about keeping the yeast happy, not whether the beer is lager or ale :thumb:
 
yeah the mexican i did after was 22c so we'll see.

i was thinking about getting a digital thermometer with a probe to check the temp when filling with water, dont really trust those temp. strips.
