I don't know how I missed this.

As luck should have it, I brewed a Pale Ale for the SCB/NCB back in February and it just happens to be 1050 & 40 IBU (how lucky is that?). However I didn't use Nottingham. Would I be allowed to play too or am I disqualified? :whistle:

What started out as a planned 1.044 40 IBU bitter is now going to be an IPA at around 1.058

I'll do a brewday thread in a bit - just boiling now :lol:

I know we can only use pale malts, but would I be able to add a little demerara or honey or golden syrup even, if required to reach my OG? Or do you think it's best to reduce my brew length? I'm only getting 1035 at 23L with 1500 pale malt extract and 1000 spraymalt light. Or would this fall outside of the rules?

Another question... I live in a very hard water area. I was going to chuck a campden tablet into the water before I boiled my wort and hops - is that the right thing to do? :wha:

you live and learn - don't alter your system & methods for a brew where you're targets are important

anyway - Storm Cloud IPA 45L of, is tucked up and pitched with Nottingham, as I have no more FV's I guess i'm out of the forum brew.

I have mixed feelings - I'm sad that I'm missing out on the forum brew but I LOVE IPA too :party:

As for water treatment, yes you need to add the campden tablet first before anything else as this is for dechlorination :thumb:

Although the fekkin stuff seems not to be working for me atm
There is no confirmed swap date, I will simply post mine out when I deem it to be ready
Use glass or PET bottles whatever you are comfortable with :thumb:
