Lol, I think I was quite tipsy when I typed that, I am quite sure in fact as I have no memory of typing it whatsoever, cider is a dangerous thing :P

Ooops... none left now though so all good. Sorry about that.

How was the wedding?
Apology accepted!.... Wedding was good and you were spot on with the price of a pint....£3.50 for Carling, I spent a small fortune, I wish I'd gone with the plan of taking homebrew, my niece took a bottle of vodka and stashed it in her room and kept on disappearing every now and then......I wouldn't mind but she's only 10 :P

I cracked open a new batch last night and there is no way I will ever be forced into drinking carling again... commercial stuff just isn't a patch... surely with your niece being ten you could have easily wrestled her to the ground and nicked her vodka... :)

...... May I also add to the equation that I suffer from Hay fever just in June

Now that sounds like an allergy to a specific type of pollen, which could be quite difficult to pin down :?:

My son suffers from hay fever but similarly only really bad in May/June depends on weather ie what sort of pollen is about with plants being early/late.

After struggling with (some) Drs (he was quite bad with eyes streaming etc and not good for a low single figure golfer :nono: ) we took him to visit a Homeopath on a Drs advice, after a couple of consultations he was put on Gelsemium and hasn't suffered anywhere nearly as much since :thumb:

If you ar going AG you might want to test in advance skin and inhalation reactions and figure your way around them. I always end up putting hands in when weighing grain out and usually end up with a fair amount of dust around as well. So even if the beer doesn't affect your allergies the dust could - especially as you have hayfever.

Extract brewing isn't as popular in the UK as it is in the states but Rob at the Malt Miller has a great range of extracts available. Less equipment needed (just a boiler with hop strainer) and good extract + hops + boil + interesting yeasts open up an impressive range of recipe options that can be as good or better than all grain, especially with adjuncts and cooked grains (less dusty working with a little crystal or choc malt). Jamil's "Brewing Classic Styles" has an extract recipe for each of the 96 BJCP styles!

Just a thought and also a good interim step between kits and the equipment and space and time for AG - especially if that led to elephant man syndrome!

Baz Chaz has a very good point, I have a wierd hayfever freaky thing going on too where it is really bad but only for short periods throughout the summer, not a homeopathy kinda guy but there has to be some mileage to looking at pollen types about when you at your worst!

Thanks for the advise everyone, LancsSteve & Baz Chaz, my heyfever was really bad especially my eyes my doctor prescribed antibiotic drops and this was the only stuff that worked, I then went to the Allergist and he said never to take the antibiotic drops as the could make me go blind!(something to do with something behind the eyes in some people)
He suggested what tablets to use, the eye drops and nasal spray(I was using all the wrong stuff, because it was the cheapest)
This is year two since using the stuff recomended by the Allergist and I don't suffer at all

I have also started taking the stuff a month before I usually suffer on his recommendation.
