All set for my Brew day tomorrow. First day off in a while so have to split it between time with the fair lady and the kitchen.
I'm Going for the hobble Whobble I got with the peco boiler from the HBC.First time in use. Then its going to spend a couple of weeks in my resent build-Beer fridge. As recommended by the good fellows from this fine site.
I've even read the I instructions that came with the kit. Now that's commitment.
So if all goes according to plan. By around 8pm ill be checking the inkbird for the temp reading..
Or I'll be crying in the corner cause it went **** up 😣

Good luck and take some pics :D

so doughed in to 14ltrs of water with 6kg of grains, seems like not enough water,i did struggle with the bag, i tried to keep the bag on the lip of the peco boiler, but with only 14ltr in there it didnt cover the grain, so had to tie it off and sink it. i will add another 6ltr of water after an hour @80c so that should thin it out abit, its currently wrapped up like an eskimo for for another 45mins ,
im aiming to reduce my brewing time as when ive brewed before it seems to of taken all day,

so this morning while having breakfast i preboiled the 14ltr and let it rest untill i came back later,it only took 10mins min to bring it back up to temp, and ive just preboiled my top up water so no waiting around later.
i never had 2 boilers last time so it seems to make a big difference.

A standard UK washing machine valve is the same thread as a standard UK outside tap spigot hose, you can screw the hose union of your tap and fit it directly onto the washing machine valve, NB this may require a little PTFE tape on the hose union end to pack it out a bit. Basically you are turning a washing machine valve into a quick disconnect by adding the appropriate hozelock fittings after the tap union.

i looked at that, but its more hassle than its worth to empty the cupboard to get to it, .thanks though :thumb:

ive allways wondered why people use a mash tun, ive only done small 5&10 ltr batchs before so never had an issue, this is my first full 23ltr batch with 6kg of Grain. ive just tried to lift the grain out of the boiler. i now realise why you use a Mash Tun, heavy and then some, well every days a school day as they say.

thanks but they dont fit my tap,
B&Q do a screw in adaptor but they have 5 empty packets on the shelf. :-(
so ordered one for next time, ill just have to run the garden hose in to the kitchen.

Is this the one?
