It's full title is Designing Great Beers: The Ultimate Guide TO Brewing Classic Styles. It describes classic styles and charts the most commonly used ingredients, the quantities used, how they are often used and to what parameters are typically met using them (OGs, FGs, Ibus, BU:GU, ABVs etc). Pretty accurate title and a very useful book IMO, giving the reader all the tools needed to design great beers. Categorically not to be avoided.

I had it with me on holiday, a few years ago in Germany. Where other books would have left me itching to turn on the stove, this book was more meta and added more theory to my knowledge. It's a good and worthy book, but I can see why the title can give the wrong impression. That's one thing what I like about "HOPS" for instance :laugh8:

What about WATER? :laugh8:

I just went to an Asian market, finding out what they ingredients are for various curries, putting them in a list in their original language you don't understand and calling it "Designing The Ultimate Curry" Here's spreadsheet with pumbanju, scrandkki, mambuggji, plibbits, snubbler root and crog-crog-magoo!

I haven't given any actual recipes - it's up to you and now you can open your own curry house and win all the stars!

My other book is "Be a Billionaire Author!"** I made a word cloud out of all the words in the Harry Potter books for you. OH, you might need a guide to storytelling, empathy, plot flow, character building, using a Deus Ex Machina to craply throw yourself out of a writing hole that you didn't have the dignity to write yourself out of once you''d written yourself in - but hey, not mahh problimmm, you already bawt mah buhhhhk!

And y'know - that sort of thing for hours.

** I withdrew my book "How to do a Star Wars!" that used the same techniques. It sold just one copy to someone called Rian Johnson who gave it 5 stars on Amazon. I am gunning for that beskard. You've probably worked it out but I also wrote "How to do a Doctor Who!" I am so, so sorry about that. Really.
