Ooops steamy

Well, the rest was all a bit of a blur. The brewing went on into the night as a side activity whilst having a good time. Many offerings were made to appease the brewing gods. A heavy dent in the batch of Second Time bitter was made.

We ended up with quite a dark beer on account of the roast barley. Certainly should be interesting. As usual for me, I will have to liquor back slightly to hit the full brew length and the correct OG. Pitched it straight onto the S04 trub of the Old Speckled Hen clone I brewed a fortnight ago, which I raced into secondary. It fermented away like blazes overnight, making a mess of the FV.

The best thing is my buddy loved the process and learned quite a bit including all my bad habits :D  :nah:

Bottled this last night, using granulated sugar at the rate of 1/2 tsp per pint. It already tastes great.
FG is 1012 as expected. Colour is lovely and dark and the roast barley adds a bitter depth to it. Looking forward to this one :-)
