AG#32 - Kurgan's Candy (a Belgian with Duvel yeast)

Well the recipe for it says that they keep it in the freezer.

Though sugar being sugar, it should keep for ages if stored correctly.

I've got a couple waiting but I want to try and harvest the yeast off them. :wha:

I`m going to get myself a load of belgain beers at the weekend for test purposes of course :lol: I`m also interested in harvesting some yeast, check out the post from bolty on how he harvested the yeast :thumb:

I've seen that post...it's very good...at the mo I'm in the middle of putting together a plate stirrer to see how good they work.....when finished may post photos :thumb:

I'm keen to know how long the candy sugar would keep, if at all, before you use it?

I think it keeps relatively well if frozen as I remember :wha: an article on the net stated last year.
Whilst all are on the scent after a lusciouse trail left by Kurgan's Candy has anyone made a white Chimay clone successfully?

If you are taking the mrs I would skip Brussels and go to Brugge for the weekend! Lovely place to spend a few days.

Rick, if you want some recommendations here's some I am fond of: Rochefort (especialy the 10), Orval, St. Bernardus (the 8 and 12), Achel Blonde. De Dolle also do some lovely beers. :

rabbie - they are some very special looking beers, i think i`ll order some from an online beer shop and treat myself thanks for the names of the beers :thumb:
