Good Luck you won't be disapointed with that beer. Had a few pints on Christmas day :thumb: :thumb:

Well my target pre boil SG target was 1.039 and I got 1.038 which is pretty dam good compared to last time :)

Got 36 litres in the boiler now and its pretty close to the rim. Worried about a boil over this time! Waiting for it to start boiling.

Excellent, I'm doing this one today as well, just cooling the wort now. Hope yours goes well.

Awesome! Good luck :)

Got another 35 mins boil to do yet...

Tucked up in the FV now, got just over 23L at 1051. Looking (and tasting!) good.

Well done....

Things not so good at my end...

It tastes great but its come in at around 1.045 when I was aiming for 1.054.. Oh well its a learning curve...

The good news is... It tastes amazing!!! :)

EDIT: I forgot to add there is a real after spice kick to this. It so yummy! You got the same with yours ?

I also should add I have TONS more than I was planning. Its cooling but I reckon I have made abour 28 litres worth! When I was aiming for 23!!!

I guess because its much colder today the evaporation rate dropped off or something.

....and done!

27 litres in the end :)

Fingers crossed all will be well

27L instead of 23 explains the lower OG, I'm sure it will still make a good drink at 1045, just more of it :)

As for taste, it's certainly got the beginnings of the fruity flavour I'm hoping for.

Bloody hell! Its already down to 1.015! :O

Its more brown than black which i wasn't expecting...

It has a nice balance or flavours and is very smooth and easy drinking with a real bitter after taste kick. Quite interesting really. I think it would of been amazing if I hit the OG bang on. Quite looking forwarding to getting it bottled some time next week now and getting it conditioned :)

On a roll tonight :D

Just tasted this, been in the bottle just under three weeks, and wow! its possibly the best stout I have ever tasted :D

Over the moon :D Much respect to aleman!

I must give this one a go, I have Ag2 planned, but I may make this AG3!

Glad you are enjoying it

Good to hear it turned out well. Mine got stuck at 1018, couldn't shift it any lower so I bottled it at that. It's only been in the bottle a week though so I'll give it another two weeks before I try it. Tasted good at bottling though.

Another update on one of my beers...

Been in the bottle of about 13 weeks now and I haven't got many left.

I must say I love it and everyone who tries it loves it. Most people saying its the best one of the four I have done to date. Its got everything a good stout should have! The taste has just blown me away and its only got better over time. Its defo peeked now though. No improvement in the last three weeks or so. It won't be lasting much longer :P

I would HIGHLY recommend this beer! Thanks for the recipe!

I am doing this one tommorow. It is by far the tastiest stout I have ever drunk.

I am just blown away with it... I am going to redo it next winter but add a bit of chilli to it. I think a mild bit of spice would make it even more interesting! Plus I fancy having a play :P

One thing I didn't get right out of it was head retention. It dies of quickly... Any idea why ? Would the only way to improve be to force carbonate?

Torri wheat is good for head retention, adding 200g ish to the brew could help head retention,

Torrified wheat is the food of the devil and will ruin the balance of malt flavours unles you like whestabix or shreedies in your beer.

You are never going to get a head like a Guinness, but I find pumping it up with a little syringe helps. :thumb:
