o.g at 1.008/9 will check tomorrow morning then move some where a bit cooler for a few days before racking into the pins. sample in the jar tasted good already

same reading today so moved some where a bit cooler for a day or so then will rack

now in the pins for a couple of days at fermenting temp then out in the shed to condition.

good work it looks great there ....

i had a TTL in derby the other day and found it very hoppy almost harsh and bitter.... :hmm:

i like hopping hare and thornbridge japuir,.... but the TTL was almost hard work... :?:

TTL shouldn't be harsh and bitter, reportedly it doesn't travel well, my in-laws live in Silsden, 5 mins from Keighley and its my beer of choice when I'm up that way, and for that reason its going to be my 1st beer to brew when I get the kit and turn to dark side... My second choice is my fav beer from the pub I worked in Bath, Hopback Summer Lightning.

Good work Dan, I hope it all works out, looks like it, looks so much more fun as well.. :thumb:

the next 3 brews will be on shortly, hopback summer lightning, old peculiar and burton bridge top dog stout. hopefully have all 3 done in the next fortnight

hooked the smallest polypin up yesterday to give it a try today. well im not sure if its right or not, but its not clear which i expected after the short amount of time. it tastes quite thin and not much flavour. im not sure if I did something wrong I ran line cleaner through then lots of water before hooking up the polypin to the beer engine. for these set of polypins I got I need to leave with the tap on the top as they wont stand up with the tap at the bottom. got new polypins for the next brew so will be able to stand them right. although with the beer engine pulling through by vacuum I didn't think this would be a problem. its as though there is still water in the lines and its mixing with the beer coming out which I would have thought after I threw the first pint there should be no more water in there. or is there a trick to this and more should be threw before drinking? thanks

I may have found the problem, the hose connection on the polypin wasn't completely air tight so was pulling air through with the beer. would this cause a bad taste from oxidation or something else in such a short space. ive hooked up another pin with some syphon tubing on the tap to get a better fit. I have pulled the old stuff through the line to the start of the new pin and switched the tap off on the pin, also took the sparkler off to clean out which I didn't do yesterday and think I should have. does this sound better? thanks
