Hello all and greetings from sunny Stockport!

I've been brewing now for about 8 months, mainly kits but i have a couple of extract brews under my belt.

Always looking for new ideas especially with kit mods because i can't leave anything as is.

Regards,
Sam :drunk:

Welcome to the Forum FBL.
One of our members, Richard Gutteridge, is very good at tweaking kits.
Give him a PM.

Welcome to THBF Sam, i made the EDME IRISH STOUT kit about 10 months ago. I added some ground coffee to mine and was very pleased with the results.

That sounds great I want to do an expresso stout also and elderberry stout when we have the elderberries. When did you add the ground coffee?

Corby that looks like a great idea, had a try of some funny old stout from the Guinness brewery (don't know if they're still going...anyone?) poured onto a cold espresso last night just to get an idea of how well coffee and stout go together and was rather impressed. :drink: Did your mod turn out quite dry or was there a residual sweetness with the DME? Just curious before I rush headlong into this one.

Thanks all for the greets.

Hi Sam, Welcome to the forum.

If you like your Stout there is a recipe floating about which ends up 9.9 % :drink: :drunk: .

It has the addition of molasses, spraymalt and coffee. It 'TASTED' so good.

Cheers Neil
