I'm on my second kit at the moment. I made a Wherry brew earlier this year. It tasted OK but most of the bottles were cloudy even 6 weeks after bottling, and these were a bit yeasty tasting. I read somewhere that using beer finings would get the yeast to settle much more quickly.
I have a couple of questions.
I'm still fairly new at this, so any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.
I have a couple of questions.
- Do I add finings to the brewing bucket once it seems to have finished brewing?
- If so, how long should I then leave it before bottling?
- If I'm removing the yeast by using finings, will I get secondary fermentation in the bottle; is there enough yeast in suspension even after fining?
I'm still fairly new at this, so any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.
