I'm on my second kit at the moment. I made a Wherry brew earlier this year. It tasted OK but most of the bottles were cloudy even 6 weeks after bottling, and these were a bit yeasty tasting. I read somewhere that using beer finings would get the yeast to settle much more quickly.

I have a couple of questions.
  • Do I add finings to the brewing bucket once it seems to have finished brewing?
  • If so, how long should I then leave it before bottling?
  • If I'm removing the yeast by using finings, will I get secondary fermentation in the bottle; is there enough yeast in suspension even after fining?

I'm still fairly new at this, so any advice would be very welcome. Thanks.

Hello, the stuff I've used you add it a day before bottling, you need to mix it first with water and then add to FV but all finings will have the instructions on, and secondary fermentation will be fine, happy brewing.
