Thanks to a new member called sandman i was directed to tesco where i could get Youngs Brew buddy lager starter kits for £6.50 for the whole thing. could not believe it, had FV, hydrometer, syphon, steraliser and 2x 40pint cans, yes thats right 80pints and almost everything to make it for £6.50. So i promptly put 3 of these in my trolly and left.

Anyway my question is what to do with it all. Im after some ideas of how to make each one different. if i can put any spices or flavourings in with any of the kits. Im also considering putting 2 of the malt cans into one batch of 40pints has anyone ever done this, any advice on if this is a good idea or how it would taste.

thankyou in advance

simon

Wow. It's got to be a pricing error surly. Our lass got me one of these starter kits to get me back into home brew just over a year ago, got it from Tesco and got the same as you but with one can of bitter at £25.99.
Be interesting to go back in a couple of days to see if the price is the same.

I don't post here often, but I've tried this kit & it was awful, I threw the majority of it away because I couldn't give it away..

they have been priced up at this for the last week or so. hopefully they stay the same price as i may go any buy some more.

anyone got any ideas how to mess around with this kit or enhance it?

what do you usually drink chris? hopefully i like it more that you did lol

Keg it, leave it for at least a month, it's better than the p*ss they sell in pubs :thumb:

I've not had a bad tasting Coopers kit yet. I've got a Mexican & Canadian blonde conditioning till xmas. It's all bottled & has been for about 6 weeks so far.

I wouldn't go that far mate, it was quite poor  . It was only £6.99 I think at Wilko's :thumb: .

I havent been able to find it down here in cornwall at that price but if I drove around all the stores.....well .But good luck to those that can ,fill yr boots ;)

It must be a local bargain price i sent the missus to Tesco extra in town centre where she got my starter kit from last year and they are still £25.99. :(
