I'm looking into making a wheat beer... I don't have the time or energy (yet) to make a whole malting kit, so was wondering about skipping that part of it. depending on the first few brews, I may be urged into the full affair.

  • Was wondering if it is as easy as I think it is, get some Malt, bung it in my FV with some water and sugar(?) and away I go... I'm having trouble identifying the wheat malts at Colchester Homebrew Supplies... might have to make a trip there and ask recommendations!

  • Hops... Do I add Hops for Wheat beers... any recommendations on a decent Hop?

  • As far as the completed material, I was thinking about 2gal in my neat little pressure barrel, and the rest bottle conditioned... that'll work wont it?

  • Lastly... silly question, but I really am not sure! Do I *need* add sugar? is there formulae to determine the percentage BEFORE fermentation?[/*:m:27br24wa]
Thanks chaps (and lass')... us winos don't always know all the answers
