I made my first red brew in December (cheapo kit but bluddy luvly!) and of the 22 bottles I siphoned in January, four turned (after a few weeks) cloudy & undrinkable.

Can I assume that I didn't sterilise and/or rinse these properly?

Sounds about right, don't see why else only 4 would turn. Think positively though, it's 18 that didn't ruin

:p Ha ha ha ha!!! I have one lonely bottle in the rack that'll stay there for a couple of years to see if it improves.

I know the taste of wine is subjective and I'm certainly no expert, but the kit from The Range came out OK in my opinion. My wife thought it was a bit 'thin' but I liked the flavour, plus after only half a bottle I knew I'd had a drink....

Didn't realise that The Range did homebrew, didn't see it on a wander around their store, but then I wasn't looking majorly hard.
