2014 Brewed so far

Hi Folks

I was just thinking half the year is almost up and this is what I have brewed and drank to date in 2014.

Winter Honey Bitter (40 pints)
Festival Father Hooks Best Bitter (40 pints)
Woodforde's Wherry Bitter (40 pints)
Festival Golden Stag Summer Ale (40 pints) currently conditioning

Next on my list for a brew day is Woofforde's Nelson's Revenge
I just wondered what everybody else has been brewing ?

Did my first brew about 8 weeks ago...

Wilko Cerveza (40pts) - Drinking this.. should have carbonated more. But has a realy nice taste.

Wilko Sweet Newkie Brown (40pts) - Going to bottle in a day or two.

Apple and Raspberry Turbocider (8pts) - Conditioning in the bottle. Came out at about 8.2%

Mead (8pts) Currently fermenting. (OG 1.098 - No idea what mead ferments out to..)

Once I have bottled the Newkie Brown. Going to do 40 pts of home made Ginger beer.

I think I may have caught the bug.

I shot from the hip on my first brew attempt because I had more fresh pressed cider than I new what to do with... A good problem to have!

#1 - Scottish Apple Rye Ale
2.5 gal of fresh cider
2.5 gal of wort (3lb rye extract, 1lb barley extract, 1 lb honey)
2 oz. homegrown Willamette hops (or maybe they're Cascades)
White Labs Scottish ale yeast

It turned out better than I expected. The apple essence is still there but not overpowering and I think the spice of the rye malt compliments it really well. It seems to get a touch of sourness about halfway through the bottle, but not at all unpleasant in my opinion. Wish I could post a picture because I really like the color, too.

Whatever the case, it's been a lot of fun.
