Well, in the spirit of the "how many gallons" threads, I reckon the new AG Brewers should have their chance like the guys who popped their cherries along with me last year did.

So here is the 2013 Popped AG Cherry Roll!

If you've brewed your AG#1 in 2013, add yourself, tell us what it was, what your brewing history is, why you went AG and where 2013 is going to take your brewing.

Over to you!

Ok I will start the ball rolling on this one.

Did my first AG on 26/01 which was an Theakston's Old Peculier clone (would post the recipe but it was from Graham Wheelers book so buy that if you want it - good book as well).

I started doing kits in May last year and never purchased a can/bottle of beer from a shop since. Don't plan to as even with kits I found the beer to taste better and be cheaper. Moved straight from kits to all grain.

The Old Peculier went ok for a first brew at 1050 OG then finished at 1010. It did fall short 3 litres but AG2 (Timothy Taylor Landlord) was pretty much spot on. Great experience if not time consuming!!

I did plan on moving 100% to all grain later on in the year but I do enjoy a simple kit as it can be done in less than an hour! - Maybe tasting the All Grains once they have finished conditioning will change my mind on that.

I also plan on trying BIAB at some point once I have had a bit more practice at all grain.

Gonna be an interesting year of beer!

Cheers.. Flood.
