This years London and South East Craft Brewing Competition and Festival date has been set for Sunday, November 11th.

After the success of hosting the event last year, London Amateur Brewers are again organising the London & SE competition.
This year, due to venue availability, we will setup on Saturday evening and run the judging and festival on the Sunday.

Where: Old Rutlishians Association - The Clubhouse, Poplar Road, Merton Park, London SW19 3JS

As always this will be a friendly competition followed by a festival and tasting session in the afternoon and entry is open to all abilities, so if you brewed it then enter it. You can enter kit beers, extract beers, or all grain beers. It’s up to you.

Don’t worry if you’ve just started brewing or if you think your brew is “average”. We can all be too self-critical about our beers. You will be able to compare your beer side-by-side with others and will receive judge’s feedback to help you improve your brewing. There will be plenty of people willing to discuss beer and brewing with during the afternoon festival session.

Registration is now open. Please read the entry requirements and closing date information carefully. Registration and entry closes several days before the event to help us with the administration.
If you managed to enter beers for the recent National event then you'll no trouble as we use the same format.

Good luck and we will look forward to seeing you there.

Due to several requests we have added a new category for your entries -

34A The Better Half - This is for your better halves to have a go at brewing.
Can be kit beer, extract or full mash but they must be the brewer - you can help with general advice and lifting heavy items etc.

We have also made a rule change this year to make it easier to enter multiple beers. This year you can enter two beer in every subcategory, and the bottle entry requirement has been reduced to four bottles rather than the six in previous year (remember there is a festival afterwards).

Less than 4 weeks to go guys.
Hope all your beers are progressing as expected.

Getting your entries registered early will help us with planning for space and judging etc.
Last thing we want is the judging still going on after the sun has set!!
Part of the fun is the social bit and prize giving at the end.

This definitely will help. Part of the overrun in time at the National was the 200 or so beers entered in the last three days of the window.......

Gentle reminder!

Web registration and entries close in less than a week - Monday 5th Nov 11.55pm

Shaping up to be a goodie. There will be food available too, Pulled Pork rolls with coleslaw and BBQ sauce.
One of the interesting categories will be the better half category, beer brewed by SWMBO. How many people here have let the other half loose on the brewery for the day? when I ran it by my missus she immediately responded with exactly what she wanted to brew. On brew day when I was hovering around offering advice I was told to F-off.

More entries than last year
127 registered beers as of last night so looks like being a cracking day.

Hopefully we can get the judging done on time and open the doors around 2pm.
If anyone needs help or information on Sunday all the stewards will have blue LAB polo shirts and official badges.

See you there.

Best of luck Mark and to all the brewers.

First drop off session is this afternoon from 4pm at the venue.
Else, 9am tomorrow but that hurts on a Sunday!

Looking forward to meeting anyone else going.

thanks will be dropping off today at the 4pm drop off. looking forward to a grate day as if it is as well run as last year then we are all in for a treat :thumb:

Just been judging at this; IPA & Strong Ales - about 21 entries in that flight and then mini BoS to decide places.

The standard was VERY high, and across a number of categories from what I heard. If you have an entry then Best of British for a Best of Show!

was at the show really good day well organised and some nice beer to thanks to all at lab for all there hard work on the day as this would not get off the ground without you guys :thumb:

Results are in.
We're trying hard to get the judging sheets posted out asap.

Well done to all the brewers who got placing/prizes. Standard was extremely high in most of the classes.

See you all again next year for another fantastic event!
