Unfortunately I don't have the outdoor space for propane burner. Nice insulating jacket though
So am i safe to thing I could probably get away with a 23-25l batch in the 56l pot with 2.4kw element
They sell a 72l pot with two elements, but seems a bit big for my kitchen lol
Thanks

... and my 32 litre pot is insulated as per the photograph.
Even with 5.5Kw of heat available, .............
I think the Mrs might be coming round to the idea of a 72l pot :) would this be too big for 23 l batches or does it not really make a difference?
My memory might be playing tricks but I'm pretty sure when I got my Ace boiler (30L) a couple of years ago it said it had a 1.5Kw element in it.
It gets up to mash temperature in the time it takes me to weigh out my grains and grind the pale malt. About 45 minutes I think. From there to a boil it takes 20 minutes or so and I have to say I do still find the `rolling boil' to be more of violent affair than I'd like.
i used to use an old single element in my first boiler which was donated by my dad when he upgraded his boiler and it always got to the boil but only a normal 23 l batch, get a proper insulated jacket, will save you money and it will come to the boil quicker and hold its heat
Can you recommend what to make one from? I bet i am losing a ton of heat with my thin pot.
