Damn - two bottles smashed

Damn - two bottles smashed as I was fitting the crown caps. I've been brewing beer for about 30 years and I don't remember that happening before. Rubber mallet, just hard enough to seat the cap.

I'm gonna have to look into fitting them some other way - I've seen press-type rigs - any good?

So the beer kit is Festival Premium Ale - Summery Glory Golden Ale. Gravity down to 1.007 from 1.046. Tastes OK although a bit bitter.

Yep, i used a crown capper , lever arm thingy and still had a few snapped necks! Main reason I only bottle in either PET or Swing tops now.
