hi guys, well thats the my first brew done(youngs harvest pilsner lager) and been in the bottles for ten days now and i couldnt wait any longer. well im impressed. the flavour is superior to anything i have tasted before, but considering i have only ever tasted the big comerricial brands( heineken, miller , tennants, you get the idea!!!) that wouldnt be hard. considering i only used castor suger and 500 grams less than the recipie said the flavour is great, carbonation im pleased with too. my only concern is head retention. once poured there is a head for about 30 seconds then it dissapears. the beer is still fizzy but no head. any ideas why this might be and advice on how to avoid this in my next brews?. as always guys thanks for all the advice

yes and then rinsed and sanitised, im guessing from the question soap is washing up liquid is gonna be a problem???

Got it in one. Soapy washing up liquid at any stage is a no no. Best avoid at all just kills the head same applies if you pour into glass that's not been thoroughly rinsed and cleaned from having been "washed up"
