I agree DD2 - I have never heard of "Sweet Stout" before.
Think it's a milk stout.
Yeah just look at the drinks that are pointed towards women DD2.

It is indeed. You still get Sweetheart Stout in cans in Tesco. Think it's about 2.5%

I worked in a rock club in the early 2000s, it was £2 a pint in the bar area and £2.10 in the concert room.
Just remembered this but if you were feeling snazzy (and add 20p to the above price) you could order an Arc lager, which if you don't remember was a gimmick where they served it at under freezing temp and it would form into a slushy before your very eyes!

Hold on in 1970 we still had Lsd (not the drug) went decimal in 1971. I remember having 6 pints of mild for 10/-, even at 17 had no effect never drank it since.

1/8 a pint. Even after decimalisation I remember having a pint of mild for 9p in a pub I never went to again. Can't remember if the beer was any good, I was so chuffed at the price, which was exceptional.
I've just thrown that through the Bank of England inflation calculator.
Lager was the equivalent of £4.02 a pint in whichever pub that was (and 27p more on concert nights)
Average price today is £4.70.
As we all know though, prices of grain and hops are significantly more today than they have been.
And people costs are much higher today.
