My opinion is that they are all shyte.
Don't scare the new members Gunge we are supposed to make them feel welcome. 
I hate those robot sounding voice-overs so couldn't watch it.
To answer the question I like the idea of electric cars but until the price comes down a lot and battery range increases a lot sales are not going to overtake petrol or diesel cars though having said that i imagine sales of diesels cars will continue to drop like a stone as owning one now makes you the equivalent of the spawn of the devil, small petrol engine cars (one litre etc) have come on in leaps and bounds and that is what i intend to buy when my current oil burner has had its day.

I couldn't possibly buy a car that has a smaller engine than my mobike. It just doesn't seem right.

ULEZ will be the start of the electric car boom.
The manufactures are saying that new cars will increase £5000 next year with the 2nd hand cars (those 2016 or new) sky rocketing. I have family that own a number of dealerships and they are all saying it. New cars selling for 15k fours years ago are now 20k.
I forsee the government offering incentives for electric cars soon.
Aren't they already doing this and incentive for installation of charging points at home?

Ah yes forgot about the charging grant, although you can charge off normal supply with some, but does take hours longer apparently.
In both my and swmbo place of work they have charging points, they aren't designed for electric cars but electric buggy's and powering computers within vehicles. Could just use them.

A bloke at work has a new fiesta and says it flies and you wouldn't know its not a 1600, I think they use big turbos to get the performance.
It's also not much use if you don't have off road parking this is another reason EV,s will not be an option for a lot of people.

It’s going to be an interesting few years. The world is still awash with oil but with more economical cars and the introduction of electric vehicles the sales of petrol and derv are falling. This will force prices down over time, more so when Libya, Iraq, Syria to name a few come back on line which is going to put pressure on ev’s to compete by bringing new car prices down.
