Could you brew a 1 can kit to 20 pints instead of 40 without adding the sugar?

Just thinking that although you wouldn't get the volume you would get the quality of a premium kit that on some brews would be less than half the price!

Also there are some kits only available in the 1 can kit format, like the Better Brew and Coopers range so wondering if brewed short (half volume) with no sugar you would get a better tasteing pint!

Yes but it'll probably be pretty rank.

Remember that in a one can kit you'll have all the fermentibles for 20 pints but all the malt and hop flavour (supposedly) for 40 pints.

It's going to turn out twice as bitter - it'll have generally a weird flavour profile.

The best way to get the most out of a one can kit is to use good additional fermentibles, either LME or DME, and brew to full length (or just shy for a little more oomph).

Ahh, didn't think of that.

Thanks Calum.
