Wee the newkie brown is in the FV with a sg 1042 just done the kit as per stock instructions except used beer sugar and only made upto 20 ltrs. Hopefully it be ok ..... One real nightmare was a small amount off the label from the tin fell into the mix :( I got it all out (I hope ) instantly...

Hi I'm a newbie to this but have got a few friends already interested in a bottle or 2 ... Also I noticed u done the wilco newkie 2 left lol I'm doing this later in the week ..how was it ? Did u brew as the tin etc or change it at all etc. Thx Steve

Well it's been at 1012/3 for 3 days now so it's just gone into the barrel along with the brewing sugar :) three weeks for a taste then it's a merry Xmas for that one I hope as it's my first go in many years. The wilco sweet newkie brown will go into the FV at the end of this week :)

Hi Having just got hold of 3 more barrels another fermenting bin a co2 bottle (full) spoon sterilisers and 50 beer bottles for £30. I couldn't help myself with a trip to wilco..... On leaving along with the newkie (not sweet) a bottle capper 50 caps some beer finnings beer sugar and some malt...

Sounds an idea :) it was reading 1014 yesterday just below about 13 today so plan is leave a bit longer and try to get 1012 :)

Thanks guys It will be ok to prime the keg then bottle half straight away (I do have the bottling attachment ) then I just add the sugar to keg ? I don't want to fuss about priming 20 bottles :(. As far as stirage goes thinking the garage is going to get to cold so going to store in the porch.

Hi folks I'm about to keg and bottle my wherry, my plan it to add the beer sugar to keg etc leave for a few days then bottle half from the keg. My issue is my garage is detached from my house but want to store my beer in there and was worried that the temperature out there is basically air...

Well just checked it this morning and it's now down to 1016 :)but slowed right down again but going to leave it couple more days :) then keg half and bottle the other half from the keg.

Ah right well I stored it yesterday ...I will check it again in morning maybe if still 1020 then get some yeast /restarted maybe or just keg it ?

Glad to report the airlock is bubbling every 2 min again after it's gentle stir :) And just picked up my free 50 brown glass bottles ....off to get a crown kit tomorrow I think ....any to avoid ? Or recommend as all seem the same basicly ? Also on the prowl for some beer crates :)

Thx I washed everything in the powder that came with kit before I touched it etc and the airlock etc :)

Hi all My wherry was stuck at 1020 after 7 days I removed lid and v gently stirred it up cleaned airlock and replaced lid,it's now active every 10 min again,have I done the right thing ?

Now been offered 3 kegs a fv co2 bottle and spoon £30 Bargain

Hi all newby here well i did some homebrew 20 years ago....but just getting started again.. i have the wherry kit.......all going ok so far i think except the stuck at 1020 usual thing after 6 days as ive seen on here, so gave it a v gentle stir and replaced lid etc,hopefully will help etc...

Thx for the welcomes ..... Last done the homebrew 6 years ago maybe longer .... Looking forward to my first pint :). Chose the woodfordes as lots of good reviews and also a fave tipple when visiting family in Ipswich
