    New Forest Advice.

Two questions amigos. Number One. Anybody recommend a route from Swaffham in Norfolk (feel free with the inbred jokes), to New Forest Area (Southampton). We'll be travelling from mid-morning so I guess we'll hit the M25 just before midday. Should we avoid M25 altogether? Any suggestions...

    Eaten anything unusual?

Sorry to correct you James but the plural for the native haggis is Haggises. It's a common mistake. I spent three years in the hills studying them and you're right in a way but they're omnivorous.

    Even carbonation

Hi Rabbie, If you've left the beer for a sufficient amount of time that it should be carbonated and you've got some flat ones it sounds like the sugar might not have been mixed with the wort properly. I've had this happen before so now I always give a gentle stir after I've siphoned onto the...

    Eaten anything unusual?

I was thinking about the weirdest things I've eaten in my lifetime and what beers I would recommend to go with them. Pedigree Chum - Stout ( the heavier the better ) Scorpion - IPA ( good for washing the crunchy bits down) Anybody else out there care to share? Remember if you didn't...

How to rack - degas - fine etc.

Hello everyone, I've only ever tried winemaking once before and need a little guidance. Once I've got the wine fermented out what are the next steps. Do I rack then fine. Is fining always necessary, what is degassing and how and when do I do it etc etc. If somebody could guide me through...

    Ginger Beer Help

Alright Mick. I had the same problem but because I'd fermented mine out dry I could boil some sugar in a little water and make a sugar syrup. Put a little in the bottom of the glass before you pour and stir it. It's not perfect but it does gice a little bit of body.

malt extract syrup vs spray malt

I'd use the liquid extract (as long as it's in date) and then just use the dry malt extract to fine tune your gravity with. It's cheaper that way. I've brewed with both and can't say I've noticed a difference - perhaps my taste buds are shot after a mispent youth smoking! At the end of the...
