For sale: 500ml brewing bottles (plastic)

I have around 90 500ml plastic brewing bottles that I no longer need as I have stopped brewing. We got flooded last year and since moving back in I have no space for brewing so these bottles have to go. Most of them coopers, some better brew. Tops included. Cheers, Alli.

    Lack of carbonation

I used the coopers drops as they came with the kit I bought (coopers) and in my first brew I found that the beer seemed to have a swirly sediment at the bottom, almost syrupy in nature. They fizzed up ok though. So on my second batch I decided that I was going to give the bottles a turn the...

    Ginger beer priming

Ok I have just bottled my ginger beer. I did 15 bottles with the raspberry syrup and the rest without. The long haired general wanted it fizzy so a teaspoon of sugar and 15ml of the Lowicz syrup should do the trick! I'm bottling in plastic so should be ok if I have overdone it slightly! :hmm:

    Ginger beer priming

I managed to get some syrup from Asda for flavouring the ginger beer. Anyone got a clue about how much to add? I was thinking one priming drop and a teaspoon of syrup per 500ml.

    Tesco stopping homebrew

Well went to my local Tesco extra and they have stopped stocking homebrew stuff. Worst thing is they didn't have a sale it just disappeared. Will be supporting my home brew store even more now!

    What beer to brew? HELP!

If you usually drink lager I would recommend the Coopers Australian pale ale. I normally drink lager and I found this a good mid point from lager to bitter.

    cider brewing newbie

I have a coopers fermenting vessel and it has no airlock. The lid just sits on top and my first 3 brews have gone fine. As for bottling plastic will be fine also safer than glass which can explode if the fermenting hasn't stopped when you bottle your brew! Tesco sell the coopers plastic...

1st time brewing cider. Started too soon, help!

Just prime it with sugar something like a teaspoon per 500 no then leave it somewhere warm and dark for 3 weeks not like an airing cupboard. Just a kitchen cupboard will do. Then fridge one for a day then give it a try. After this it may be drinkable but would probably benefit from a month in...

    Ginger beer priming

Will get myself to Tesco and see if I can find the syrup. Will do some of the bottles just in case it's no good.

1st time brewing cider. Started too soon, help!

Keep reading it every day. Once it stops it's ready to bottle or keg. As for priming depends if you want fizz or not.

    Ginger beer priming

I'm currently fermenting a Coopers ginger beer kit and my wife likes the Crabbies that has raspberry in it. Does anyone have a recommendation for giving this kit a raspberry twang? I was thinking I could prime it with some form of raspberry syrup to flavour it and prime it at the same time...

Newbie advice please for first brew.

As for the beer enhancer, it's more expensive than using sugar and Spray malt but your end result will probably be better, cost per pint will be a few pence so give it a try.

Fermenting in a cold kitchen this winter...

Alternatively brew some lager. I'm told that this prefers lower temps for fermenting. Fermentation will still take place at lower temps, it will just take longer. I'm not sure what temperature will cause fermentation to stop but I'm sure someone will help you out with that.

    Coopers apa first ever brew!

Yeah have read elsewhere that the coopers lager does have an ale yeast in it. But to be honest I think the APA kit has a very lager like taste to it. Took a couple of bottles over to a friends house and he was mightily impressed!

    Coopers apa first ever brew!

Well I am impressed! Having uncapped a chilled bottle and poured, Job is a good one :thumb: I'll admit it's not crystal clear yet but it's almost there. As for taste, I have had a worse pint! It had a head and the carbonation was good enough, another couple of weeks and I reckon it will be...

    Coopers apa first ever brew!

Have got myself a green label lager kit. I used the coopers brew enhancer 1. This time I got my wort temp to 22 degrees so should get a better result. Still haven't tasted my APA as it is still chilling in the fridge. Off round to a mates house with a couple of bottles for a second opinion...

    Coopers apa first ever brew!

The temp dropped to 24 on day 2 the 22 on day 3. Weather was baking which was the main problem Will move my bottles into the outhouse if fizzed up ok. Thinking of doing the coopers green label lager next :-)

    Coopers apa first ever brew!

I am new to the forum and home brewing, as mentioned in the topic I have just recently bottled my first batch. I got a coopers starter kit with the fv and all the bottles. A really nice kit only issue I had was that the tap on the fv leaked. Got in touch with coopers and they have shipped me a...
